This high resolution photo of Pine Tree Arch was taken at Arches National Park in Utah. This National Park is a wonderland of more than 2000 natural sandstone arches and other awe inspiring rock formations. Humans have occupied the region since the last ice age 10,000 years ago. It has been protected as a National Monument since 1929 and became a National Park in 1971.
Canyonlands, just a few miles away, is another wonderful national park if you're in the area. Our two weeks in the area were graced with varied and often dramatic cloud formations.
