This photo is of the constellation Hercules. Hercules is one of the most famous of the classical heroes. He was the half mortal son of Jupiter and had great strength. As the legend goes, at the end of his life he was rewarded for his bravery by being placed in the sky. He is depicted in this constellation leaning forward with his arms raised in battle.
